Coming Undone: How to be a Compleat Fool
Lecture: September 24 - Coming Undone: How to be a Compleat Fool
The Trickster-Fool wanders the border between what we consider to be civilized and uncivilized. In times of Crisis, when this boundary becomes dangerously rigid and inflexible, the Trickster-Fool comes unbidden into our lives and releases unlived energies that are burning to be freed. This lecture will celebrate the saving grace of coming undone, and using examples of folly, creativity and dreams, will explore the crucial role that the Trickster-Fool plays in this process.
Workshop: September 25 - A Fool’s Journey
In this workshop, we will embark upon a journey to discover what it takes to move from a life of complete folly to a life of compleat folly. Along the way, we will encounter the Trickster-fool, among other characters. To keep track of where we are and what’s going on, we’ll refer to Jung’s model of the psyche. (Pre-requisites: A willingness to begin anywhere; to travel light; to stay curious; to get lost; and to laugh.)
Lecture: Friday, September 24, 2004, 7:30 p.m.
$15 (non-members); $10 (members, guests & students)
