Annual General Meeting 2009

Programme: The Way of the Dream with Dr. Marie-Louise von Franz and Marion Woodman
In the film clip from Marion Woodman’s new ten hour collection honouring Dr. Marie-Louise von Franz, we will learn some of the foundational orientations and techniques Dr. von Franz used to analyze over 500 dreams in her lifetime. In Man and His Symbols, Carl Jung describes dreams as follows: “Dream pictures are often symbolic, for they do not state the situation directly but express the point indirectly by means of a metaphor that often cannot at first be understood. This is not a deliberate “disguise” by a dream; it simply reflects the deficiencies in our understanding of emotionally charged pictorial language.” (p. 43). Afterwards there will be a discussion.
We have positions available on the board of the Calgary Jung Society:
Membership coordinator
Dealing with all aspects of membership co-ordination and management, you will meet like-minded people. As a board member you assist in shaping the Society to continually reflect Jung’s ideas in a changing world. No previous experience is necessary, though attention to detail and a love of dealing with people are key attributes.
Librarian
A great opportunity for a problem-solver interested in the work concerning Jung and his opus. Crucial to the vision and mission of the Society, the library must evolve and be easily accessible to members. Knowledge of the subject matter is useful but not essential. Benefits include personal access to a wealth of information, plus helping make decisions about a vital library for like-minded thinkers in Alberta.
