My teacher at the Jung Institute said that every few years he reads and studies Jung again because he always discovers new things. In my office as with most analysts, you will find the complete works of C.G.Jung, not only as a reference tool, but to read again. The seminal works offer new depths and new perspectives as we move through life.

Join us for an introduction or to revisit core concepts. Wherever you are on your journey, it is worthwhile to renew your perspectives. Discussion in our group is a great opportunity to share and compare experiences. In these seminars as we study and discuss, we infuse the concepts with our life experience and energy so that they in return can unfold to us their message and wisdom.

The concepts we will discuss include the shadow, anima, animus, persona, Self, and the ego. How are these experienced in our lives and how can conceptual understanding improve our lives?  For example:

Have you had a fight recently, or thought how to avoid one? It is important to know how much of your adversary is outside and how much of it is inside of you. To know the difference makes you efficient in your life. (Shadow)

We will not answer these big questions for you, but show you the Jungian path for finding the answers. The words Jung uses waver between image and abstract formulations. While an image is worth a thousand words, a concept is also worth a thousand words.  In these seminars we discover which words speak to us.

Dr. Zeljko Matijevic is a Jungian analyst and a physician. He was born in Zagreb, Croatia and educated in Croatia, Germany and Switzerland. While specializing in internal medicine in Germany, he became interested in psychosomatic medicine and consequently studied at the Jung Institute in Zurich. Since moving to Canada in 1989, he has maintained analytic practice in Calgary. In addition to lecturing on topics concerning our relationship to the unconscious, he leads study groups in analytical psychology and gives workshops on dreams, myths and fairy tales.
